About

Ad Fontes is a record label founded by Buckfast Abbey dedicated to presenting recordings of the finest sacred music. Given its roots within the Roman Catholic Benedictine tradition, the label specialises in choral and organ music drawn from that rich heritage, with a focus on the Choir of Buckfast Abbey and the new Ruffatti organ.

The name of the label is taken from the Abbey’s motto, Psalm 41: Sicut cervus desiderat ad fontes aquarum ita desiderat anima mea ad te, Deus (Like the deer that yearns for running streams, so my soul is yearning for you, my God).

Our download formats

Ad Fontes recordings are available for download in MP3, FLAC (Lossless) and ALAC (Apple Lossless) formats. We offer the FLAC and ALAC formats in both CD-quality and Full Studio Master versions. MP3 downloads are of equal audio quality to 320mbps. Unlike many labels, all formats are available to download at the same price per track. It is not possible to download purchases directly onto your iPad or iPhone; please download to your Mac or PC and then sync to your device via iTunes in the usual way.

Distribution

Ad Fontes is distributed by Willowayne Records. Unfortunately due to a changes in shipping regulations we are currently unable to sell to countries outside of mainland UK. If you are outside mainland UK you can purchase all our titles from Willowayne Records and Presto Music.
